LED Signal Unit for Tunnel Installations

LED Signal Unit for Tunnel Installations

RDSO / Spec No. RDSO/SPN/153/2011 Rev. 4.1 (Draft)
Application Indian Railways (S&T Sector) & Metro Rail - Tunnel & Underground Signalling

Product Specifications & Details

The LED Signal Unit for Tunnel Installations manufactured by General Auto Electric Corporation (GAEC) is engineered specifically for underground, tunnel, and confined space signaling environments. Compliant with RDSO Specification No. RDSO/SPN/153/2011 Rev. 4.1 (Draft), this 110V AC-fed signal features a compact 85mm display area, built-in current regulation, and LEDs driven well below specified safe limits to significantly extend operating life. Compatible with Electronic Interlocking (EI) and Relay Interlocking, it provides a highly reliable, phantom-free solution available with custom powder-coated enclosures (MS, Stainless Steel, or Aluminium).

Key System Features

  • Underground Optimized: Compact 85mm display diameter designed explicitly for low-clearance tunnel layouts.
  • Extended LED Lifespan: LEDs are driven well below maximum safe limits to lower heat and maximize component longevity.
  • Built-In Regulation: Integrated current regulator for consistent performance across input voltage fluctuations.
  • Interlocking & Proving: Operation and lamp proving fully compatible with EI and Relay Interlocking.
  • Aspect Range: Available in RED, YELLOW, GREEN, and VIOLET (used for Metro Rail main signals).
  • Enclosure Customization: Can be supplied in MS, Stainless Steel, or Aluminium powder-coated housings with full internal wiring.
